Clare & Leo – Brisbane Wedding Photography

How sweet are Clare & Leo – long time friends, then they fell in love – you could definitely see and feel the love when they said “I do” on a rooftop penthouse at Raby Bay Marina in Brisbane.

Clare and Leo wanted a small and intimate wedding to celebrate their love with their nearest and dearest and I was so honored when Clare chose me to photograph her wedding – as I have known Clare and her family for at least 7 years now and we’ve celebrated some wonderful milestones together so it was perfect to be a part of their special day.

Clare and Leo also did a “First Look” just to have some time together and calm the nerves a little bit, so it was also wonderful to be able to capture that moment too.

Their biggest fear was when they realised the Raby Bay Twilight Markets were on that evening – and of course where we wanted to go for photos, but I was like, “hey lets go with the flow, lets walk through the markets, people love to see a wedding and it was so nice to hear so many people congratulate them.

Make sure you read their comments – especially the “Funniest Moment on the Wedding Day”.

Honeymoon: Paris and England in September and October

The proposal: Leo proposed on a Saturday morning in September last year and had the engagement ring in its box laying on our bed in the arms of our cat. He had wanted to propose in Paris but because of things beyond our control Leo decided that the time was right for him to ask me to be his wife. He was romantic and the proposal was everything I could have wished for. After proposing, Leo produced his laptop and on it was running a video of a 360 degree view taken from the Eiffel Tower. It was amazing. We are going to experience something wonderful and memorable when we finally get to Paris  this year.

Funniest Moment on the wedding day: Was probably when Leo thanked Clare’s parents for allowing him to marry their daughter and Clare’s dad replied “funny I don’t remember being asked”.

Special Memory: There are a few. 1. Six year old Cooper walking his Nan proudly down the aisle 2. Two year old Grace as flower girl (and her cheeky smile). 3. Our children being part of our wedding party and all of us signing a Family Certificate designed by our wonderful celebrant and 4. Our wedding vows to each other. It was so wonderful to stand before each other and our family and friends declaring our love and commitment for each other.

Special thanks: To our beautiful children and grandchildren thank you for being part of our wedding party.  We love you all so much. To our family and friends thank you for attending and sharing in our special day. To our wonderful celebrant Leanne thank you for spending so time getting to know our story and for creating a beautiful ceremony for us. To our incredible photographer Lisa. You are amazing and have captured our love for each so beautifully and completely.

Advice for other brides-to-be: make lists and tick off each job as completed. On the day of your wedding enjoy and take in every moment of your special day because it flies by.

Lisa, you are amazing. Your calmness and creativity with the photos you took on our wonderful wedding day have captured our love for each other and the love for our family perfectly. You have been a part of our family for many years and have photographed many milestones and celebrations and we are truly grateful that you could be part of our wedding day.

Clare & Leo

Thank you again Clare and Leo – and have a wonderful honeymoon in September, I can’t wait to hear about it – especially since this is Clare’s first trip overseas!!! Lisa
